The Record

Off the shelf.

Things that made the cut, then lost it. Pruning is half of curating. This is the paper trail.

Why we show you this.

We could quietly delete things and hope nobody notices. Nobody would notice, and that is exactly the problem: a shelf that never loses anything isn’t a filter, it’s a warehouse with good lighting.

So when something stops clearing our bar, it comes off the shelf, the reason goes on this page, and the gap it leaves stays honest until something better earns it. No anonymous deletions. No hoping you forgot it was there.

The promise, kept

The easiest way to trust a filter is to watch it say no.

Every shelf on this site makes the same promise: when something stops being worth recommending, it comes off. This page is that promise, kept in public.

The record.

What left, when, and why. Each entry is a thing we once recommended and no longer do.

The record is empty for now. When something comes off the shelf, it goes here first, with the reason attached.

Curious what it takes to get on the shelf?

That’s the other half of the story.
